Sunday Beats – The Dead Trends

Sunday Beats is Booming with New Musical Talent

Get a taste of Durban’s freshest musical talent, the Dead Trends at Sunday Beats taking place on Sunday, 29 January at Suncoast’s Amphitheatre from 2pm!

Young, energetic and impactful, The Dead Trends are a local four piece indie-pop/rock band who are taking the city of Durban by storm. Having already performed on numerous stages around KwaZulu-Natal including the Outland Festival and White Mountain, band members James Chandler (lead vocals/guitar), Caleb Frow (drums/backing vocals), Cam Lane (guitar) and Bradley Richards (bass guitar) are planning big things for 2017.

“Last year was a great year for us,” Chandler says. “We received great airplay on local radio stations for our debut track titled ‘Yesterday’. Our debut EP titled ‘Melancholic Melodies’ also came out and has been doing well. We are hoping for a healthy turnout of people at the end of the month when we perform at Sunday Beats at Suncoast. Please come and support local!”

Over the past few years, the city of Durban has witnessed a rise in musical talent with numerous bands all trying to make a name for themselves. Artists such as the Gus Brown Band, the Kickstands, Motherland, Abbey Grange and many more, are proving that Durban is a music-rich city.

“It’s a new year and at SUNCOAST we love supporting local talent so have brought another great local band to the stage in the form of The Dead Trends,” says SUNCOAST Marketing Manager, Louise Howell.  “They are a young and fresh local band who we expect to take not only Durban but also South Africa by storm. So be sure to come and check them out!”

The group plans to tour South Africa this year to promote themselves along with their debut EP which is currently available on all digital platforms.

The Dead Trends will perform on Sunday, 29 January at Suncoast’s Amphitheatre from 2pm. For more information on Sunday Beats visit www.suncoastcasino.co.za.
