Creative jazz experience set to take place at Suncoast’s Sunday Beats!
One of Durban’s most promising and creative artists within the jazz scene is pianist, arranger and composer, Burton Naidoo who is set to thrill audiences when he performs at SUNCOAST’s Sunday Beats on Sunday, 28 May from 14h00.
Burton Naidoo’s love for music began at the tender age of 6 years old when he started piano lessons with Simon Keradchi at the Simon Keradchi Academy of Music. His music is largely influenced by Dimitri Shostakovitvh, Alben Berg, twelve tone rows, poly harmony and extended composition who are also a huge influence on his compositional and playing styles.
His approach to the jazz idiom always borders on the adventurous and daring, whilst his versatility enables him to comfortably fit into a variety of musical ensemble settings. His high level of attention to detail in his music has seen him play at various stages and events at venues such as Alliance Françoise along with the inaugural Underground Serious Music evening last year, just to name a few.
“Come and cap off a great month with us at our free Sunday Beats sessions in an inviting and relaxed setting overlooking the splendid Indian Ocean and Durban promenade” says SUNCOAST Marketing Manager, Louise Howell.
