Sunday afternoon’s have got a whole lot more musical at SUNCOAST, Durban’s premier entertainment destination. Over the last few months their Sunday Beat music performances have featured more than 50 local artists with music genres ranging from jazz, afro pop, folk, salsa and acoustic jazz.
Some of the artists that have performed include the award winning, internationally acclaimed Ernie Smith, local blues jazz band, Beat Route, the vibrant Zaffa band, Mario Ogle and the sexy salsa sounds of Manteca.
Louise Howell, Marketing Manager at SUNCOAST said “We want to offer a relaxed Sunday afternoon entertainment option for the whole family to enjoy and the sessions are also an opportunity for local acts to present their music to the public. The variety of performers also ensures that we cater for a wide range of music tastes.”
Slungile Msweli, Mind and Mood Manager added “It’s exciting for us to be able to afford local artists a platform to showcase their offerings and we are grateful for all the support the artists have been receiving.” The Sunday Beat line up for this year has already featured the band Habit-To, John Ellis and guests can look forward to performances by Lloyd Cele, The George Marie Band and many more in the months to come.
These public performances take place most Sundays, weather permitting, from 2pm till 4pm at the Amphitheatre located on the boardwalk in front of SUNCOAST. So gather your friends and family and head down to SUNCOAST’s Sunday Beat sessions, entry is FREE.
