Six Suncoast employees are geared up and ready to cycle in the 2014 Tsogo Sun Amashova, taking place on Sunday 12 October, all in the name of charity. These Suncoasters will be cycling to donate R5000 towards the Vukukhanye Edu-Care Centre, which recently relocated to a permanent location within Chesterville.
Staff from various departments within SUNCOAST, Chris Goosen, Mbhekiseni Ngwane, Mpume Maphumulo, Monica Mokoena, Justin Oliver and Cedric Nzama have all come together with an aim of giving their all for charity. Training is in progress for all the participants who are on a mission to contribute towards this worthy cause.
Marketing Manager at SUNCOAST Louise Howell said, “Vukukhanye has become part of the SUNCOAST family and having staff committed to enhacing the lives of the less fortunate bears testament to the passionate and compassionate people that work at Suncoast. We are rooting for the SUNCOASTERS participating and will be waiting in anticipation to welcome them at the finish line.“
Vukukhanye is a non-profit and public benefit organisation formed in 2001, which operates and supports community-based projects aimed at the care of orphans, vulnerable children and families. One of Vukukahnye’s projects is the Vukukhanye Edu-Care Centre. Established in 2012 the Edu-Care Centre currently has 30 children under the age of five that are taken care of daily.
Anthony Van der Meulen CEO of Vukukhanye said,“Due to the relocation various items still need to be purchased before we can settle into our new home.” We are truly grateful for the on-going support and generous contribution from Suncoast”. Adopted by SUNCOAST as their primary CSI project since 2009, SUNCOAST staff visit Vukukhanye and the community of Chesterville on a monthly basis where various initiatives such as maintenance projects and social visits are carried out.
The Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic starts in Pietermaritzburg and ends off at Suncoast. Come down to Suncoast and show your support and cheer on the cyclists at the finish line.
