Magic Company – Reach for a Dream

Making reaching for a dream possible for some!

The Magic Company at Suncoast recently donated toys valued at R 7,000 to the Durban based Reach for a Dream Foundation.

Founded by Owen Parnell; Reach for a Dream made its very first dream come true on Thursday, 7 July 1988. Today, 25 years later, the Reach for a Dream Foundation has brought hope, joy and healing to countless South African children.

Children between the ages of 3 and 18 have used their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses such as cancer and leukemia, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, renal failure and various blood disorders.

“Our company started working with the KZN Reach for a Dream Foundation 2 years ago. Dependent on how many tickets have been donated by our customers over the month, we are able to assist in making a dreamers wishes come true” says Leilani Morgan, Manager of the SUNCOAST Magic Company.

The Magic Company has over 19 family entertainment centres in various shopping malls and casinos around the country offering various types of games from ten pin bowling to go carting.

“When a dreamer’s dream is to visit Magic Company at Suncoast, like the last dreamer we had this month, we let them choose any prize that they want from the prize shop. The last dreamer chose a massive helicopter and their face just beamed when we told them that the helicopter was our gift to them” says Leilani.

She goes on to say “Apart from the dreamers visiting Suncoast the staff from the Reach for a Dream office choose toys for the dreamer’s siblings and also for the children in hospital. That is what the Reach for a Dream staff did on Wednesday 17 August. With the help of our generous customers we were able to donate just over R 7,000 worth of toys to the foundation”.

Next time you are at the Magic Company at SUNCOAST, you too can donate towards making a dreamers dream come true by donating some of your tickets at the gift shop.
