Vuluzela Moment @ SUNCOAST
|
Staff and patrons of SUNCOAST brought the roof down celebrating the National Vuvuzela Moment on Wednesday 9th June in a massive show of support for the FIFA World Cup and the national soccer team, Bafana Bafana.
The huge Vuvuzela Moment campaign encouraged South Africans to observe five minutes of madness at exactly 12 noon on the day, as flags were flown and vuvuzelas, whistles and car horns blown across the country.
The five-minute frenzy was replicated at businesses, on the streets and in government offices around South Africa, in a loud reminder of the imminence of the World Cup kick-off.
Even a sudden downpour of rain in usually sunny Durbs couldn’t dampen the spirits of hundreds who turned up to participate at SUNCOAST.
Once the festivities were moved inside Durbanites got down to business and the ching ching of slot machines was temporarily drowned out by hundreds of blaring versions of Bafana Bafana’s ‘12th man’.
Team SUNCOAST, in their bright yellow soccer shirts, were a sight to behold! |
