Go back in time on a journey of black and white memories bursting into colour with Eastern Moves Productions’ latest dance creation, Dancing with the Legends 2 which runs from Friday, 1 to Sunday, 10 April, 2011 at the SunZone, Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World.
Local choreographer Shivani Kara, who brought you hits like the Dance with me Baby series is back with this show-stopping, scintillating Bollywood dance show.

Dancing with Legends 2 promises to entice young and old alike, with a colourful flurry of hits from the golden era of the 1930’s to the 1980’s.
The production pays homage to the legends of Bollywood Cinema such as popular actors Rajesh Khanna, Jitendra, Saira Banu and Amitabh Bachan, as well as backstage singers such as Kishor Kumar, Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar, who are remembered for their brilliant performances.
“Dancing with Legends 1 was an outstanding success and this encouraged the thought of having a sequel”, said Kara. |
“I am an avid fan of the golden oldies as it brings about a feeling of nostalgia. I know many people share the same sentiments. The songs in this production are true classics which the general public will recognise,” she said.
The cast compromises 30 talented dancers and true to her reputation Kara has given new, up and coming dancers who are passionate about dance a chance to play leading roles.
She said, “This show is very different to any of the previous ones as the choreography is much softer and focuses on the emotion as well as the era of the songs. This is in contrast to today’s style of pumping’ bass levels and ‘sounds. It’s about the unforgettable hits of Bollywood Cinema being brought back to life, and you will notice this being adopted in each segment of the production.”
Audiences will be presented with exquisite lighting to suit every mood of each song, where each era is shown in a simple but impactful way. Every dance sequel outlines the character and style of the music in it purest form.
Dancing with Legends 2 is two and a half hours long with a 20 minute interval. Tickets are R120 per person and available from 15 March 2011 via Computicket bookings or from 18 March 2011 at the Suncoast Box Office. Seating is reserved.
